Mail Art Project: August 26, 1998 - May 1, 2000 (114 envelopes,
dated and stamped).
Private collection
Living in a store front in Hamilton, Ontario the letter
slot on my front door happened to be only inches away from a city
post box. The word boomerang was typed onto a sheet of 8
1/2 x 10 standard white paper. And was repeatedly mailed back and
forth to me for a period of approximately 2 years. Every time the
boomerang came back to me I would open the letter, take the page out,
and put it into a new envelope and mail it back to myself again. It
would usually take about a week for the letter to travel what was
conceptually only a matter of inches. The project ended when the post
office eventually lost this letter and the boomerang never came back.
All that is left of this project is the accumulated empty envelopes.
